As I found with my own career, you can also get through graduate level computer science, and publish AI papers while still being really quite bad at basic math.
- f6v 5y agoIn my field, you could publish decent results by applying a dull CNN just 2 years ago. The only math you had to know was arithmetic to calculate TP and FP.
- nsonha 5y agoHow should ww feel about this? On the one hand if math is the thing that intimidate people from pursuing science then this is encouraging. On the other, papers are supposed to be useful and truthful and I don't know if that can be achieved if the authors are mediocre at math.
