If they are not retracted, they might get cited by other works which themselves might get cited. Suddenly this faked, nonexistent research has been "laundered" into mainstream and nobody knows anymore that there was a problem in the first place.
- WesolyKubeczek 5y agoI’m wondering what happened to good old reading with comprehension. Ain’t nobody got no time for that? If so, doesn’t it make those papers worthless?
- eecc 5y agoNope. Time is the only non-fungible asset being burned here and everyone is desperately defending their own allotment.
- WesolyKubeczek 5y agoThen can we at least draw a border around such "science" so that serious people who have work to do know to not waste time with it?
- wmf 5y agoWe already know which venues are legit (because we've heard of them) and which aren't (because we haven't).
