The Father of the Web Is Selling the Source Code as an NFT
- quantified 5y agoI take it the code is solely owned and licensed by the seller, so he has the right to sell ownership in this regard?
- detaro 5y agohe hasn't sold any "ownership" of the code
- gus_massa 5y agoIn spite of the title and the article, he is not selling the code. It's more like selling an autographed printed version of the code and pinky promising not to sell a million more tomorrow.
- smt88 5y agoNFTs have nothing to do with ownership. They're like trading cards. You don't own a baseball player because you bought his trading card. NFTs sellers can certainly choose to sell ownership along with the NFT, but again, that's a separate legal transaction and not a feature of the NFT.
- jimsmart 5y agoThis article is from mid June (2021) — the NFT was actually sold on the 30th of June, fetching $5.43m.
