A Supercar Designer Is Building a 250-MPH Flying Hypercar
- aurizon 5y agoI recall the old science fiction pulps of the 30's and 40's. Many of their illustrations had flocks of winged prop driven planes filling their skies. You can make a costly flying plane, but you can never have a flock because physics is against you. Look, we have traffic on the ground, when it gets dense it slows and even stops - no problem, you just sit there. In a flying car what do you do when the car above, and to the right and left and below stop? - Hover? - if only we could in a flock for a while. This is the essential limiter of large numbers of flying cars in a crowded air space. We have seen many flying cars from as far back as the 50's, but never one that could 'flock', Electric will not help, it has a lower power to weight ratio. Only the full control of gravity will help - which may never come to pass. That is the limiter
