It’s very hard to understand addiction. I know I had two distinct addictions for wildly different reasons. With certain games or porn, it’s just, I loved it too much. Later, with alcohol and prescription meds, it just made me feel less shitty. The former I just enjoyed it too much, and the latter, I never found a better substitute for anxiety and self hatred. One was truly an insatiable desire, the other was truly self medication. If you suffered from this, it’s very hard not to think you were born this way.
