Sad, but not surprising. People with a lot of money like to spend their money, but when everything is closed and you can't travel and do extravagant things, then it's hard to spend. So, the already wealthy saved. Meanwhile, a lot of poorer people lost their jobs or had their hours/income significantly reduced as a result of business closures and/or needing to take care of young kids who's schools were closed. Less income than usual, less savings than usual.
