I found this last night after my recently re-capped Macintosh 512Ke started flup-flup-flup on boot. I found some old forum posts about re-soldering the flyback transformer but that didn't fix it. One of the forum posts had a link to The Dead Mac Scrolls and after reading the section on tuning the voltage lower, powered it up and Happy Mac Sound and booted right up. Approximate cost of repairing it yourself: 15 min.
