Honestly, I thought you were going to say it’s the latter. It’s great. It has a huge API because it solves a lot of problems. Does some stuff get complicated? Sure. Sometimes there are edge cases that get messy. The other day I was surprised to see my categorical labels implicitly converted to strings if they were used in a multi-level index. But for me, at least, that’s a fairly esoteric use-case. It stands out to me now precisely because pandas so rarely does something I didn’t expect.
