- h2odragon 5y ago> The company says the weapon is “capable of accelerating any ferromagnetic projectile (under 1/2″ in diameter) to 200+ fps [feet per second]” and can produce up to 100 Joules of force, or 75 foot-pounds, similar to the muzzle energy of some .22 rifles, This is cool but its not up to proper potato gun standards of dangerous unless you lick the capacitor terminals, is it? do they have a "shock stick" adapter kit?
- LinuxBender 5y agoI've always been curious how these devices will integrate if at all to existing firearm laws. That's a very bulky and expensive .22, so I would not expect many people to rush out and get one. If some day that same device was equivalent to a 45-70 in 200 to 400 grain pushing 1600 fps and it could hold enough charge for a couple hundred rounds and it was weather-proof and durable, it might get more attention. I would expect to be about as loud as a suppressed powder equivalent and much less pain in the shoulder. But I am more curious how these work legally. Do you need to go through an FFL to get one? If not, will these cause a revamp of firearm laws if and when these devices evolve?
- starkd 5y agoLooks like they have shipping restrictions for certain states/cities. They don't mention anything about background checks. Its sort of experimental at this point. My guess is that its useless for self-defense or criminals. https://arcflashlabs.com/product/gr-1-anvil/ https://arcflashlabs.com/product/gr-1-anvil/
