“Think of the Children” and “terrorism” are two of the most used excuses for overreach, usually reserved for governments, but apparently for some companies too now. Why is it Apple’s business to stop crime, regardless of severity or type? How does “solving crime” help them sell devices? The more conspiratorial-minded individuals might actually suspect some government collusion in this, because it makes no financial sense otherwise to do this.
Nobody is dismissing CP (or terrorism). Simply put, it’s not Apple’s problem to solve.
