Show HN: Create HA k3s clusters in Hetzner Cloud in a couple of minutes or less
- SkyLinx 5y agoHi! I just finished building a Ruby gem that allows you to create super cheap, production grade Kubernetes clusters in Hetzner cloud very, very quickly. It uses k3s as K8s distribution because it's very lightweight, leaving more resources to workloads. I love it. The tool does everything to create a ready to use cluster in Hetzner, including the ability to provision load balancers and persistent volumes out of the box. If you are looking for a very affordable way to easily create and manage self hosted Kubernetes clusters, and are happy with a European location (Germany or Finland), then check it out! I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions on how to improve it in terms of functionality etc. Can you please give it a try if you already have an Hetzner Cloud account or are willing to create one? Thanks!
- robsalasco 5y agoGreat work! How much the default settings cost monthly?
- SkyLinx 5y agoHi! and thanks! My current cluster for www.dynablogger.com costs me just 50 euros per month for 3 masters (cx11, 1core, 2GB each) and 4 worker nodes (cpx21, 3 fast AMD cores, 4GB each), plus 2 load balancers (one for the API server and the other for the ingress controller) and a bunch of persistent volumes. I save a TON of money this way :)
