I'm interested in exploring alternative forms of forest management that can unwind the years of fire suppression and get to a new equilibrium that does not involve every forest being burned down along the way. Can anyone point to sources/research in this direction? It seems past time to look into more radical alternatives than just doing a few prescribed burns.
