We called them "montérky". They were terrible. They didn't even had belt loops, you couldn't put any gear on you, as if they were designed to lower the productivity. The only thing they were good for was standing around with hands in your pockets. That's why communism failed.

In the '80s, the western countries were terrified of Japan because they feared they would soon develop the technology for trousers to have two belts. The productivity lead would have been unassailable.
