What I don't understand is that Apple does seem to believe that this this has no possibility to open them up to very visible and expensive lawsuits in case of false positives. I'd assume if they hit the wrong person it would get ugly for them. Especially as civil rights organizations would love to support anyone who gets falsely accused if it was only for the publicity.
