This is a very slippery slope. Users of iOS devices have already ceded general-purpose computing in favor of Apple being their sysadmin. Now Apple is using that control and access to act against the interests of some users. The fact that it's only targeting users doing something almost universally considered heinous is irrelevant. If Apple can scan your encrypted photos to make sure they don't contain child abuse, why not scan your encrypted chats to make sure they don't contain a conspiracy to commit murder, or an arrangement to buy drugs, or a plan to reveal something embarrassing to the ruling party?
