No one wants to pay more taxes, No one wants healthcare workers get less money, No One wants substandard care..
You can not have All 3, More Care, and More Pay requires more Taxes... Canadian's however do not want to pay more Taxes.
- mindslight 5y agoYou can get all 3 improvements if you're starting with an absolutely terrible worst-of-all-worlds system, like the one we have in the US. The main losers of any reform would be administrative paper pushers, but needless fakejobs aren't good for anybody.
- syshum 5y agoI find it highly ironic that you believe the losers "administrative paper pushers" when 90% of the paperwork needed by the medical industry is a result of GOVERNMENT regulations. Medicare is full of all kind of "administrative paper pushers" It is beyond me why people think the solution to a government created problem is more government
- mindslight 5y agoMy own preferred solution would be to restore working market mechanisms - eg start by eliminating this corrupt ability of the industry to enforce post-facto arbitrary bills, and start prosecuting providers for billing fraud. But it's foolish to not also recognize that a single payer system would be better than what we have now. I have experience with Medicare from taking care of a family member, and while it had its problems it was still much better than all of the pitfalls of "private" insurance.
