It's starting to seem like lab leak makes much more sense than natural occurrence. The rate of mutation, species affected, speed of spread. This viral explosion does not seem compatible with natural virus evolution.
- netizen-936824 5y agoHow do you know that? When is the last time such a virulent novel disease was discovered amid a pandemic situation? There's literally nothing to compare it to. Mutations happen at a greater rate with a greater total number of infections. Each infection is virus reproduction and when the virus reproduces it has a chance to mutate. This goes up exponentially with the number of cases, and such a large number of cases in such a small time frame can make it look like it isn't "natural".
- TrispusAttucks 5y agoGenome sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 shows that it appears to have genetically diverged from a horseshoe bat strain ... several DECADES ago! The current behavior of this virus is not compatible with a virus that is that old. Unless the appearance of age is due to human modification. Which other genetic clues also seem to indicate. If lab leak is true - it is inconvenient enough for geopolitical power to refute.
