Dwarf Fortress has shown that this would in fact be quite exciting, but it would probably be a lot more niche.

- eigenket 5y agoOnce you get over the bonkers UI its pretty easy to make a dwarf fortress that can survive essentially forever, farmers are ridiculously productive so you can support a population of 100-200 pretty easily with 10 or fewer farmers.
