OP here. That is hilarious and fascinating. The blog has been in desperate need of some TLC for a while and I am sure godaddy/wp without ssl is definitely not a best practice these days. Would implementing an ssl cert help? What do people use for minimal self-hosted blogs (read only, no comments, etc) these days? Medium feels like a trap.
