I'm kind of out of the loop, but I expect that if I cannot get Windows 11 then eventually my Windows 10 machines would no longer be supported with updates and so on, right?
I guess I will check if I can play my games and do my work using Linux... I feel confident that I should be able to.

- keskadale 5y agothe Proton compatibility makes almost all games work on linux. for work, if you're into programming, it is going to be a much better experience with linux. if you're doing something else, you'll find most windows software works on linux, or you'll find free alternative that work about as good.

Some games probably will support it. I wouldn't run that kind of software on my working machine, but the possibility is there.
- maccard 5y ago> if you're into programming, it is going to be a much better experience with linux This is an opinion, and not a fact. I have had a much better experience with windows tooling for C++ and .net for the last 7-8 years than I have with tooling on Linux. Visual Studio and a modern terminal emulator (Conemu), are an excellent pairing.
