- avs733 5y agoPeople are actually inspired by it. Their perception is actually being a doctor is so far away that things will be solved by then.

- Gatsky 5y agoGreat article. Unfortunately medicine continues to attract endless applicants. Universities have worked out that people will eat broken glass and pay for the privelege if they think it will raise their status.

- xyst 5y agojust wait until they realize being a doctor at a hospital is more bureaucratic than actually practicing medicine.
- tonyedgecombe 5y agoIsn't that the case for any white collar job. Just look at the endless complaints on HN from developers about meetings.
- rchaud 5y agoEvery medical resident in history has that experience, but the majority still do the work everyday. There is some level of disillusionment in every discipline.
