Should your employer pay for your commute?
- Bostonian 5y agoNo, because employees decide where to live and how to commute, which determines the cost of commuting. An employer paying for all commuting expenses would encourage employees to live farther away and to take Uber instead of public transit.
- bediger4000 5y agoAbsolutely, yes. I've taken jobs because it was a 15 minute commute, only to have an EVP decide to move the entire IT department closer to his house, necessitating a 30 minute drive or a 50 minute bus ride.
