So oddly my modem started working again... I'm wondering if it's related to having to use the original charger/cable... because I could not get it to boot (after it died on my desk) using other phone chargers/usb-c. Anyway after I found the original charger/usb-c it booted up right away... think the battery has an internal BMS thing as I measured the contacts it was at 0... thought the battery died. Now I have a working modem again with 4G showing... it's weird.
