I believe robots will be a huge boon to safer policing, for both the public and the police themselves. Using robots instead of SWAT teams makes a ton of sense to preserve life. Drones to end the dangerous practice of police chases. Robots that apprehend knife wielding subjects without harming them or risking officers. On the other hand, I'm sure they will be abused in ways we would never imagine by corrupt and backwards police forces throughout the country. They will push the boundaries of our outdated legal system with ideas like: "We didn't engage in a warrantless search! The ROBOT did!" "The robot indicated presence of narcotics with it's predictive algorithm." "Having a drone outside of predicted repeat offenders just makes sense!" "Citations for (Insert non-criminal crime here) are now being issued from our XPD drones!"
