Yes, I agree 100%. There is a downside however. memcached is very much for hash-structures (point lookups only). InnoDB is a B+tree, so it can do ranged read

There is a downside however. memcached is very much for hash-structures (point lookups only). InnoDB is a B+tree, so it can do ranged reads as well.
