Congress Likely to Pass $550B Infrastructure Bill That Threatens to Kill Crypto
- lalaithion 5y agoNote: Crypto in this context means Cryptocurrency, NOT Cryptography. Once again annoying and unfortunate that cryptocurrency advocates use that ambiguous shortening.
- starkd 5y agoGood point. The title needed to be shortened for HN.
- liorben-david 5y agoIt threatens to kill anonymity in crypto transactions. Definetly not a good thing but I'm also not sure if that means it is going to "kill crypto". I don't know enough about the mining compliance hurdles to really judge that part of it though. If it truly bans mining than it just means the end of Bitcoin and other PoW coins
- starkd 5y agoIt doesn't ban it outright, but it brings heightened scrutiny from the IRS that might put miners out of business. At least, that's what the article is suggesting.
