There is truth in this article, but I do not feel as pessimistic as the author seems to feel. I think we need to push for more quality in Open Source software, and in commercial software. That quality can come from a team, though it seems more likely to be driven by a charismatic BDFL. The quality though comes from tests, attention to detail, QA, etc.
