Western Europe has seen a dramatic reduction in the number of insects. Neonicotinoids are a prime suspect. Most articles focus on bees, but there are several other groups of insects that can act as pollinators. Several important groups of insects, especially wasps, are important in controlling pests from other species. Killing insects will also have a negative effects on the animals, like birds that feed on them.
The widespread use of Neonicotioids has a profound negative effect on our ecosystems.
