Ask HN: What new features would you like to see in Android 13 / iOS 16?
- latexr 5y agoAbsolutely nothing. What I want for the next two major versions of iOS (and macOS) is for them to stop adding features and start fixing what’s already in. Make them “zero new features” releases; they have the precedent: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_Snow_Leopard https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_Snow_Leopard
- lbriner 5y agoIn a similar vein, I would like an update that doesn't slow down by 10s of percent. My original Samsung S2 tab and my Samsung S8 both used to work fine and quickly. A few updates later and no obvious new features and sometimes a click on an app button takes a number of seconds before anything happens to the UI. I wouldn't mind if I was getting more bells and whistles but honestly, I would rather have a more basic Android that isn't so slow without the hassle of rooting and installing some 3rd-party Android that might or might not work properly with the App Store etc. Oh, and if they could fix Bluetooth so it works without glitching all the time, I might be able to use my phone as an mp3 player when out jogging.
