- MattGaiser 5y agoCanada. Am regularly bombarded with recruiters, although mostly for the US market.
- cloudedcordial 5y agoAlso in Canada as well. I have been regularly courted by recruiters from both US (remote) and Canada. I have started a new job a few months ago. My now former manager was trying to come up with a counter offer, but my new offer is too far off from my old compensation package.
- abledon 5y agoare they all wanting your to lift-and-shift your life to US? or are they Remote positions
- MattGaiser 5y agoHalf and half. A pile of them are for Kaiser, so I assume that is some high turnover pit. I haven’t been actively following up through to figure out which ones are permanently remote.
- llimos 5y agoIsrael is pretty hot as well now. Lots of approaches landing in my inbox, and they're good ones too. And as in the article - some haven't embraced remote, and I feel like they're losing out.
- tiagod 5y agoLisbon, Portugal. Haven't seen anything like this before. Anyone going through some frontend bootcamp will be hired immediately with much higher salaries than any comparable job with the same barrier to entry.
- mmarq 5y agoSame in London, everybody I know got a 20-25K£ rise in the past 12 months.
- dpaleka 5y agoNo one is reaching out in Switzerland right now, but I guess they should. Let's try my luck again: https://danielpaleka.com/docs/cv-daniel-paleka.pdf https://danielpaleka.com/docs/cv-daniel-paleka.pdf. (EU citizen.)
- dt3ft 5y agoSwitzerland has plenty of code written in vb/c# and tech like wpf is sought after. I highly recommend you look into that and do a few sideprojects using this “old, uncool” tech, if you want a job there. (Source: I lived and worked in CH for 6 years)
- blacha 5y agoNew Zealand, with our borders closed my company has had multiple job ads open for intermediate/senior developers for over a year. Every candidate we do interview, generally also has multiple other job offers.
- slyall 5y agoThe immigrant supply is cutoff and there is upward pressure on wages but employers are not panicking yet. Just grumbling that usual pay is not attracting good enough candidates. Plenty of places have not increased wages yet and interview process seems around the same.
- dilyevsky 5y ago+1. I’ve been hearing grumbling for a while now but as far as i can tell the offer increase has been largely symbolic. Most companies are either in denial still or planning on waiting it out
