I like how these new commands are basically the same as the Subversion commands "svn switch" and "svn revert" ("git revert" obviously wasn't a possibility for this command as it was already taken). Obviously Git and Subversion are different beasts but, if you only needed the functionality provided by Subversion, I always found the Subversion commands better named and easier to use. I'm glad that Git is slowly re-inventing these commands that Subversion had from the beginning.
