Ask HN: Alternative to Balsamiq (that costs less than $500/yr)?
- edoceo 5y agoI'm still hand-drawing pictures and linking images to do app-mock-simulaton. All the tools seem too complicated for me
- readonthegoapp 5y agoyeah, that's partially why i'm a bit stuck on Balsamiq -- they're refused to add all the other stupid shit I don't need, so it's still usable. Some stuff is native-app only, and i need cloud. balsamiq can be used for under $200/yr if you only have 2 projects. not good enough for me, prob. the others i looked at: - Mockplus; non-web, $200/yr, no bueno - Adobe XD; non-web, $120/yr, no bueno - Mockflow; $168/yr, might work, but don't know these guys - Figma; $180/yr, bit high end, but they do have wireframes
- joshxyz 5y agodraw.io?
- discordance 5y agoI use one of the free wireframe toolkits (https://speckyboy.com/free-wireframe-templates-mobile-app-web-ux-design/ https://speckyboy.com/free-wireframe-templates-mobile-app-we...) with Powerpoint or Keynote. You can make them interactive by assigning an action to a button and making it go to another slide. Not as good as Figma, Wireflow or Origami, but gets me 90% of the way there.
