I actually think openkeychain is a bad recommendation. PGP is notoriously hard to use properly, it's not forward-secure, and unlike most PGP users, OP actually needs reliable security.
I'd honestly just use Signal or something like it.
- jrexilius 5y agoOpenKeychain usage isn't limited to PGP in email. It's quite easy to use to simply encrypt files or short strings for use in other mediums. Yes, I'd use Signal for what it was designed for: secure chat in circumstances where I trusted both my phone and my counter parties phone. But learning to use an additional tool for different circumstances in his context I don't think is that hard.
