I recently watched a video of someone making a 3d-printed version of these, they called it a 'fractal vise'

- leephillips 5y agoThe reason this caught my eye was that it looks like a mechanical instantiation of a Fourier series, and resembles epicycles, which are a similar sort-of Fourier decomposition of elliptical orbits.
