I also looked into cost of housing, wages, employment, acres of public land, annual rainfall, proximity to nuke plants, air and water quality, crime rates, taxes, schools. It took me a long time to gather the data I wanted to review. Back then I bought an "US Alamanac" to help with my research and it was a great resource.
