Germany had a similar situation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastarbeiter#Currently https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastarbeiter#Currently "Temporary" workers tend to turn into permanent immigrants, and we should stop pretending otherwise. Either grant permanent resident status at the start, or forbid entry entirely, instead of this "guest worker" farce that always turns to emotional blackmail to let them stay, as if no-one could predict they'd start families.
