Non-stick pans need to be replaced regularly because the nonstick coating is not permanent, it will come off eventually. As a bonus if you accidentally overheat nonstick pans (>~570°) you get toxic fumes that kill birds and make humans sick ("polymer fume fever") Just get a steel pan instead.
