Mapping Africa’s Buildings with Satellite Imagery
- aaron695 5y agoIf you ever wondered why DARPA is doing their Subterranean (SubT) Challenge. Anyway, this is cool. A common question of the Poverty Probability Index is roof type. PPI asks the respondents 10 simple questions. ie. Mali is - Do you own a table, bed, iron, buy sugar, district, number in house, roof type, floor type, cooking fuel, English literacy. It's simple and multiple choice. I'm not sure what you can do with just roof type but it also would be interesting to measure.
