I will work for anyone doing anything for $125,000 per year. And remember, not everyone can be a coder for $300,000 per year. I'm talking about being a server at a restaurant, working in a warehouse, and jobs like that. You say those jobs don't pay that much because they are not that valuable? Ha, fine. See where that gets your company when you can't hire anyone. I bet those workers will look a LOT more valuable then.
Why should I work to make the rich richer? Does Jeff Bezos really need another $100 billion, while his warehouse workers make, what, $15 per hour, and every single person is measured the entire time, even taking a sh-t during their break? They fire women for being pregnant. Instead of fixing the air conditioning in a warehouse, they just lined up ambulances to bring warehouse employees to the hospital if they passed out because of the heat.
I'll lower my compensation demands only when you completely open your books to me. If I see that while I make $21K per year in Los Angeles working at a restaurant, you're making $20 million per year, then f you, I ain't working for you. If I see your books and you are making $350,000 per year, then ok, I'll lower my compensation demands. But f-ck you, I'm not going to make starvation wages when you make that kind of money of $20 million per year, or like that, anyways.
You say that I'll starve or get tossed out of my house if I don't work? Well, f you, you're also going to have the same thing happen to you if nobody wants to work for you. Let's all die together, sounds good to me. Otherwise, don't be so f-ing greedy.
Business owners can afford it. You are just too greedy and want more, more, more for yourself so that you can show off to everyone how great you are. Color me not impressed. Get your stupid little robot servers. We're not going to be able to afford going to your business anyways, since we are not working for money, so you'll still starve anyways, even with your damn robots.
Let's get the tax rate back up to 80 or 90% on the top tax bracket people, like it was from the 1940's to 1985, when the USA was doing a LOT better, in terms of infrastructure, equity in wages, CEO's not making 300 times the average worker, etc.
