  Was eradicated by vaccine. Without the vaccine many more would've died but that wasn't my point.

    Maybe I parsed your sentence wrong but Smallpox would have never gone away without the vaccine.

      I thought polio was also dealt with via mass vaccination? There are rumours of weaponized polio but not in general distribution, fortunately. An hiv vaccine with the efficacy of COVID vaccines would result in a vaccination rate so fast it would have relativistic effects.
