What about the unaffordability crisis for those that are still renting and waiting to buy? By keeping people in homes they do not pay for, you drive up home prices and reduce supply for everyone else. Not to mention create the moral hazard to just get a government backed home loan and not pay it.
- culopatin 5y agoI’m in a situation where I paid every month during COVID, didn’t pocket any savings, didn’t milk the system in any way. I can’t move because rent is up 35% in my area and I can’t buy because it’s insane. But you know what? I rather be in this situation than worrying about the end of the govt feeding bottle, so I’m not complaining. 20 million homeless would probably trash the market too and my investments would go to shit, so really I just wish everyone the best.
