This straightforward in the fish shell:
> set array (string split ", " $string)
Afterwards you can also use the fact that arrays and array elements act far more predictably in fish (no implicit splitting on whitespace, for example).
- sgarland 5y agofish is great because it isn't POSIX-compliant. fish is also terrible because it isn't POSIX-compliant.
