Tesla Model 3 Wades Through Flooded Streets in 'Boat Mode'
- ianai 5y agoStill a bad idea, at least around here. There are some places nearby that flood out at least once a year. And at least once a year someone drives into it, gets swept away, and dies. Despite the swell looking only a foot or so deep the current runs fast enough to take a car.
- noahmbarr 5y ago2 striking things: 1) the level of sealing and waterproofing is pretty incredible 2) a consumer’s trust that #1 holds true of the high wattage system… IMHO, this “capability” speaks to the level of engineering excellence of this company/product.
- uptime 5y agoA rudder isn’t something you could simply deploy but I might stow a paddle and some fenders…
- ampdepolymerase 5y agoCan Teslas do differential drive?
- lupire 5y agoMisleading headline. This is regular wading, not floating "boat mode" the Elon mentioned (and has never been publicly verified).
- kjaftaedi 5y agoThere are multiple videos, in one of them the car is clearly floating.
