I had to use this for a client project once (per their request) a few years ago and as a developer it was an absolute nightmare. But I guess it's not meant for developers...
There were so many quirks and limitations that I wouldn't ever recommend it to anyone. It's to app development what Macromedia Dreamweaver was to web development back in the day, except worse because you can't edit the code.
I don't want to be overly negative so I'll say that I do see value in it for those who have no technical skills or programming knowledge to create some sort of prototype, but that's about it.

- robfitz 5y agoYou definitely can edit the code, but it's hidden within their plugin system. If you're willing to spend 4-8 hours going through tutorials to understand their metaphors & setup, then you can find plenty of interesting ways to use it that are faster than "normal" coding. But if you just jump right in on the assumption that your coding knowledge will carry you through (which is what I did the first time I looked at it and sounds like what you did as well), then you're going to have a bad time and end up without an accurate view of what it's good at, bad at, and where the trade-offs are.
- eljimmy 5y agoThey had only just introduced plugins when I used it so I guess they weren’t as advanced back then. I can see they’ve added in many new features since. Can’t say I’ll use it again but good on them for continuing to improve it.
