Having some emacs-like text editing key bindings (^{a,e,b,f,n,p,v,y,k...}) is one of my favorite NeXTSTEP leftovers in macOS. I believe that they can be customized and extended as well.

  System Preference / Keyboard / Shortcuts lets you change most of them.
