Agreed on online and then maybe local from there might be the better way to go. (After all that's how DEFCON got started right ;) But I like the idea of seeing people in person, especially after COIVD, and hardware projects are harder to collab on in the net. No hate on more professional "networking" type events. I'm personally just not looking for more work after work and, at least for now, that's really only what's available on meetup.
