I'd say only because there haven't been any good options yet. I happily paid for Blendle as long as they had my best interest in mind (refundable) and only didn't pay more because there wasn't more relevant articles for me. I'll happily pay for substack etc as well if there is something really interesting, but it either needs to be very interesting, small amounts or someone needs to come along with a real all-you-can-read-model like Spotify. Ideally I want the option to pay pr piece, or pay a bit more for all todays posts from a channel (newspaper).
