Any OS should be just tuned for performance
- agloeregrets 5y agoArguably, performance v. efficiency is a fair decision. In most cases it means the same thing but in a few cases it really doesn't.
- newsclues 5y agoStability and reliability are also nice.
- tester34 5y agoweird way to spell security who needs performance, current hardware is too fast for non-server meanwhile cruds can be optimized anyway
- queuebert 5y agoI don't know about you, but I'm rarely annoyed that my server isn't 5% faster. But I'm always annoyed when it goes down.
- merhard 5y agoNo, you're wrong. An OS that is just tuned for performance cant devops the blockchain like IBM's AI can using serverless IOT devices.
- jen20 5y agoAbsolutely not. Mobile operating systems (including those for laptops) should be tuned for maximising battery life. Or provide profiles for different power situations.
- wolf550e 5y agoHigh performance unauthenticated remote code execution
- rbanffy 5y agoRight. This way the ransomware can encrypt the hard disk really quickly. And decrypt when you pay the ransom. ;-) Security, folks. A fast car without seatbelts is a death trap, not a means of transportation.
- anthk 5y agoHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHHAHAA. With LPAR the ransomware would have really lucky if it were aware of where it's being running from.
