Show HN: I made a crowdsourced website to classify every beach in the world
- eesmith 5y ago"An unexpected error has occurred." when I try to search nearby or view the map.
- guivr 5y agosorry, this is happening sometimes (still need to figure out what's causing this annoying bug), especially when opening the Filters. could you try again pls? here's the map link: https://beachnearby.com/map?ref=hn https://beachnearby.com/map?ref=hn thxx
- eesmith 5y agoHmm. Still doesn't work in Firefox. But I have FF 84.0.2 because I don't want to loose ftp support. With Safari, there isn't a problem.
- onion2k 5y agoI filled in the details of my local beach here in the North East of the UK (https://beachnearby.com/beach/roker-beach-sunderland-england https://beachnearby.com/beach/roker-beach-sunderland-england), and I had to laugh at the "Umbrellas for Rent" question. We do need them, but not for keeping the sun off. Also, should answering "No" to questions about "Mosquitoes" and "Sharks" really considered thumbs down? Are beaches that have mosquitoes and sharks better?
- guivr 5y agoThanks a lot for adding the data! Haha. The thumbs down is just a way to represent "No" via emoji, I think it could be confusing / inconsistent to change them according to specific data points like "Shark", but I definitely understand that there can be a problem with it. I'll think about it. Thanks for the feedback!
