Looks like almost everybody would be worse off if Firefox went away and looks like nobody gives a shit if it's going away in part due to uncompetitive behaviour on iOS and largely because they don't seem to have a handle on the situation, investing left and right and not focusing on the browser.
Here's a thought, Mozilla does a lot of political campaigning, how about campaigning for open app stores and death to no other browser engine? Why not do this which seems like a do or die situation for them?
- sjkorvin 5y agoHave you seen the Coalition for App Fairness? As someone who's had trouble with his parents, seeing Qustodio on there made me cringe. Mozilla is not a member. I totally understand your point, but I've been following Linux to some capacity for a little over a decade and this entire time, Mozilla has been the "friend" of the Linux community that it can't decide if it wants around or not. There have been so many Mozilla "controversies" that have gotten the Linux community up in arms that I've seen people think that Mozilla operates by building up goodwill and then, doing things to create negative attention. Apparently, there's a name for that.
